The underside of the CLEW Freedom 1.0 highback features a rubberized sole made from durable TPU — the same material commonly used in snowboard boot soles. It offers shock absorption and grip when walking on hard surfaces.

If the step-out function is used mainly on snow (as intended), the sole can last for many seasons without issue. Gondola rides and walking in the resort are absolutely no problem.

However, on rough terrain like parking lots or gravel, we recommend stepping out the traditional way and walking the final stretch to your car or bus without the highback attached to your boot. This helps preserve the sole for the long run.
